Hi Thomas you can come and visit me in Oldbury West Midlands any time. Oldbury has a large supermarket, a library (closed due to lockdown) some nice pubs (all closed due to lockdown) a large retail park (although a lot are closed due to lockdown). Apologies I couldn't make it sound more attractive, it would be nicer but due to the lockdown its rather crap. The large covid testing centre is open though.

I realise that not all countries are the same but you only have to look at their low death rates to realise that they are acting correctly. Our problem is that we have too many people concerned with 'civil liberties' instead of concentrating on beating this virus. Too many selfish people moaning because they want their jollies abroad. For God's sake, just give it a miss for a couple of years and holiday in this country.

One locked up their population for months at a time and destroyed the economy, the other didn't. Sweden have shown from day one that they were acting correctly

I should point out, £5k is a bit excessive the fine fine itself isn’t wrong. Like the 10years sentence, but excessive and should be a lot lower and relative to the actual crime. Sorry i should have pointed that out.
But the whole thing about travel is that people can still go abroad, surely if an outright ban before travelling you give your justification not be slapped with a fine at the end. The logic of the way they are doing things is bizzare.

Evening Regis - in my view any fine should be a percentage of an individuals annual income so it hits every person the same in their pocket. For example we have a customer who has a 75 million home in Kensington as well as many properties around the world - they said they are going to Dubai next week so 5 grand to them is like 5 pounds to you and me. So there you have it!!!
