Yes I'd agree with this. If fans look at Ncfcog's stats and charts they show that we have effectively been punching above our weight recently in terms of points gained over expected points based on our recent performances. This is where the phrase 'papering over the cracks' has been mentioned by people on here a lot recently. It's clear that you can only ride your luck for so long and it's unsustainable. This is where stats assist in that it is an alarm bell emphasising somethings missing.

Many people would have been able to see that in recent games under Neal Ardley we were getting by on individual moments of brilliance. It can be argued with hindsight with what we have seen in the past two games that what it did show is that Neal Ardley was getting the best he could from a squad low on confidence particularly in the 2-2 draw's with Boring Wood and Yeovil and dare I say the 1-0 win over Wealdstone.

In his last interview Neal Ardley mentioned about he's never had to work so hard on the touchline and having to drive people on. The manager or coaches should not be having to do that. The players have to take responsibility for setting high standards and their own performances regardless of who is in the dugout because that is one of the key principles of being a professional player.

It doesn't help that we have got wave after wave of games because it's the last thing you need when things are not going well. However what it is doing is giving the new coaches real time lessons in what this squad can and cannot do on a matchday at this point in time which they wouldn't get on the training ground alone.

Someone on here also made a very good and interesting point that with no fans in the stadiums bringing new coaches now means it's also giving them an environment of space and time to settle in that they would not have had typically.

If the performances were there but we were not picking up points then it would be an entire different landscape and would mean that we would need to keep doing what we were doing and the results would come. But it's not so the tanker of Notts County needs turning around which could take some time.

Dead right about that last interview, it got me worried for sure and I think NA was feeling a bit defeated . . . I'm glad for his sake they let him go, he needs to recharge and go again with a fresh challenge. As for the players, they need to take a long hard look at themselves. The arguing on the pitch last night was not what we need to see and i think Enzio's face when he got subbed said it all.

Disagree. Constantly sacking loanees isn't the answer, he needs well over 100 games before we can decide.

It could be even harder if he doesn't start, as only starts count. Could be hundreds of appearances in all.
