Maybe but if he’s a quarterback why doesn’t he pick the ball up and throw it?

Enuff now, I'm just being petty. Call him what you like. Quarterback! Hmph!

As long as he isn't wrongly called a centre half or centre forward then we are all good.

Having Reeves or Doyle collect the ball from the centre halves means our starting position is always too deep. We need a ball-playing centre half to do that job and get the midfield where they should be - in the middle of the pitch. None of that will matter, though, if we remain so static in possession.

Ever wondered why American sports commentators don't call their "pitchers", "bowlers"? Or first base, "silly mid on"? Ever heard of their "catcher" being called "wicket-keeper"? In their "football" they call their forwards "offensive" not attackers or strikers.

America has b@st@rdised our language in many ways, I do wish we wouldn't allow us to adopt their "soccer" terms as well.

Agree with this. There are a few players in this team who could be better utilised, and Reeves is one of them.

It's a very apt description for a deep lying midfield playmaker. I firmly approve of the use of the 'quarterback' when discussing all things soccer.

However we do not have a 'quarterback' at Meadow Lane. We've had them before but not now, they orchestrate the offense nobody seems to do that at Notts currently.

Enough of this petty semantic squabbling. I'm more focused on today's match and wondering who IB will select at cover point.
