Seems like the new boss is getting some traction after the usual transitional chaos. Hopefully he can really dig in now.

It appears that the answer is no. It seems that it is the fastest hat-trick since Lee Hughes scored an 8 minute one in an away game against Burton Albion who we beat 4-1 on 28th December 2009. The goals coming in the 45th, 48th and 53th minute. The third goal being a penalty.

Prior to yesterday's hat-trick the previous one was scored by Gary Thompson on 18th October 2014 against Crawley Town in a 5-3 win. Almost 6 1/2 years ago so it's been along time coming as it's been quite a drought compared to the period 2008-14 in which there were ten hattricks scored.

In terms of a player scoring a hat-trick away from home we have to go back to the famous 4-2 victory over Charlton Athletic who were top of league one when Jonathan Forte scored a 22 minute first half hat-trick on 10th March 2012.

Jimmy Goals next challenge is to see if he can equal Paul Heffernan's 4 goal record which came against Stockport on 21st Feb 2004.

Most Recent Hat-tricks (Past 20 years)

Jimmy Goals = 19 minutes (Away v Woking)
Gary Thompson = 52 minutes (Home v Crawley)
Lloyd Sam = 53 minutes (Home v Yeovil)
Jonathan Forte = 22 minutes (Away v Charlton)
Craig Westcarr = 39 minutes (Home v Hereford)
Lee Hughes = 8 minutes (Away v Burton Albion)
Luke Rogers = 90 minutes (Away v Lincoln)
Lee Hughes = 32 minutes (Home v Northampton)
Lee Hughes = 16 minutes (Home v Bradford)
Jamie Forrestor = 26 minutes (Home v Port Vale)
Jonathan Forte = 31 minutes (Away v Barnet)
Glynn Hurst = 22 minutes (Away v Bury)
Glynn Hurst = 50 minutes (Away v Rochdale)
Paul Heffernan = 66 minutes (Home v QPR)
Danny Allsopp = 25 minutes (Home v Tranmere)
Danny Allsopp = 11 minutes (Away v Mansfield)

Well Swalepie, the new boss already has had a better start than Ardley, with 2 wins from his first 3 league matches, remember Ardley only achieved 1 win from his first 12, and for me that showed his incompetence that took over 2 years to be acted on

Cheers, I should have remembered the Hughesy hat-trick at Burton because I was there. We hadn't played for a while because of bad weather, but that game re-ignited our march to the title.

Forte's hat trick away at then table topping Charlton is surely the most surprising and impressive out of that list.

I wasn't at the Valley that day instead I was at Pride Park eating prawn sandwiches and enjoying free alcohol for the day watching the Rams in action but soon left my seat and was glued in amazement in the hospitality area at the score flashes coming in from SE London.

I missed the game on Saturday, only the 2nd league game this season (3-0 v Wealdstone was the first) so was after a clearer indication on how we played against Woking?

Was the midfield better? Did we play too ‘sideways’? I noticed we scored thrice when Knight came on, what difference did he make...and how? Is he a Luke Rogers kind of player?

Details please! Typical that I’ve missed the 2 most high scoring games of the year 🤷*♂️
