The Public Health Act of 1984 is certainly ironically named.

So was the Healthy and Safety at Work etc Act 1974

Wide ranging, some of it worked, but being an enabling Act it allowed lesser legislation to improve on it.

“Work” has changed a lot since 1974, but the Act still works for the greater good
