I think the owners will succeed in the end as they seem to have enough money.
I also think that no matter how bad our results are this season they'll stick with the manager and sign around a dozen players in the summer. Purely guesswork but I suspect when the new team doesn't "gel" by October we'll sack IB and only then will the Reedtz brothers take on board the true magnitude of how competitive English football is even down here in the scrap heap and end up doing it the old fashioned way by employing a successful manager who knows what's needed at this level.

It's a real misconception to believe that Dave Challinor or Mark Yeates or Gary Johnson can't coach. They all go on exactly the same courses and read the same manuals. They've all been doing it their whole adult lives and know the business from being an apprentice footballer to coming to the end of their playing career and stepping up to management. Most of them have spent their whole careers at clubs with limited budgets and facilities, they're basically tough, resilient men. They have the advantage because they know the league and have an eye for a player.

Doesn't look like the extended break did you any favours at all as you've come back looking desperate and in need of attention.

Poll? The only thing I can promise you is increased compassion and sympathy when you inevitably embarrass yourself on multiple threads in the very near future.

Before once again 'going on a break'.

I thought a poll was a good idea, obviously laddo disagrees. It seems we are polls apart.

Maybe he'll change his mind in a couple of weeks, then we can have a May poll.

Thanks Elite for setting Navy straight that you were (unsurprisingly) the person who suggested the poll. The old boy seems to got it into his head that it was me! Although you struggle to read the room (NCM) none of your questions or proposed polls appear popular on here

If only there was an obvious thread for all this poll talk that you are so keen to arrange..... oh there is in the thread Captain Morgan started all about me

Looks like you don't even need to use your handbags thread, you can just that one. Perfect

Hopefully we can let this thread about the owners and whether their plan will succeed or fail get back on topic. We don't need an unnecessary #hijack.

Back to discussing the Reedz Bros #fingerscrossed

Note to ancientpie - I hope you've noticed that laddo is still trying really, really hard to avoid petty arguments!

    Back to the thread title.

Good piece written by Lee Curtis....................

"Elisha Sam and Ruben Rodrigues were used sparingly by Neal Ardley in the weeks leading up to his dismissal

amid concern as to whether they possessed the characteristics required for the National League.

The duo must have hoped that a change in manager would have given them a fresh start, but head coach Ian

Burchnall left them out of the squad altogether at the weekend.

That’s now two managers who are yet to be convinced they are up to the standard required after they were

identified by the club’s recruitment model in the belief they could have a major impact this season.

In fairness, Sam and Rodrigues are not the only players who have been signed on the back of using statistics

and video footage, but it has raised question marks over the quality of the club’s recruitment once again.

The harsh truth is there have not been many transfer success stories this season and key players who left

the club have simply not been replaced by like for like quality in what was a huge mistake.

Instead, there has been a gradual shift by the club to sign young players who are considered “projects” such

as Lewis Knight, Jordan Barnett and Jimmy Knowles but they proved to be raw and unpredictable.

That has been reflected by the inconsistency of their performances which has undoubtedly been one of Notts’

biggest problems throughout the course of the campaign.

One would hope that Richard Montague, the analyst and director who oversees the recruitment, will learn

where the club has gone wrong this season given he plays such a key role.

Nobody can ever dispute the owners’ financial commitment to Notts, but for all money invested in the squad

since last summer, they have had little bang for their buck".

Looks like it only took half an hour before I had to uncross those fingers

Elite you do realise that there is another thread basically designated to this mission/poll topic? You should do because you were the person who suggested a poll on that very thread

It does make me wonder why you and thread creator Navy would therefore then feel the need to post about it on a thread about the owners and their chances of success at Notts?!?

Hmmmm the only reason I can think of is your continued desire to hijack and ruin threads and instigate petty arguments with me#truecolours

Surely that can't be the case
