Anyone got any concrete evidence that mellon has no say on players? Seems weird he has been pushing the pp resign if not. Def something up though.

For the first time in many years I don't have a single confidant at Tannadice. So no concrete evidence from me I'm afraid S71. I'll deal with it by assuming there is no rift at all, it's all rumour mongering. But I must say Micky does look a bit cheesed off at times. Not that he was ever exactly laugh a minute, he does cut a dour demeanour at the best of times Hope he's wearing a smile the width of the Tay at 4.30 this afternoon tho C'mon UNITED!!!

In fact, can you give me any reason why he should be running the show at our club other than he talks a good game.
What qualifications do you think he needs?

This is where I'm at. Given the squad he's been dealt with, MM has done a great job getting us where we are. My reservations are the extensions being handed out - does he seriously believe guys like Clark & Pawlett are the future? - and the bizarre tactical decisions, namely the squeezing in of 3 strikers which has proven time & time again not to work. I'd love to know just how much involvement TA has had in these extensions given that I firmly believe it was him who single handedly made the decision to extend Connolly & Harkes and had a very big say in the signing of Hoti.

He definitely has a say. To what extent I don't know. Edwards & Bolton were 100% MM signings. I fully believe that. Hoti, McNulty & Fuchs not so. Granted he took a look at the three mentioned once brought to the club, but I'm reckoning they were as good as done with or without the managers say so. The fact we previously tried to get Hoti & McNulty under the previous manager is what I base my assumptions on.

Thought of someone like McInnes gives me the fear.

Also I’ve only just managed to finish Micky’s book so terrible if he left now !!
Losing MM gives me the dread and he can't go yet as I need the incentive to finish reading his book!

A track record of unearthing promising players would be a good start.

Aye, because burying your head in the sand and ignoring what's going on always turns out well. The fact of the matter is that we have a sporting director who has no experience at a top class football club and one of his first appointments was his son, who also had no experience coaching at a top class club with elite players. Now it looks like he's trying to get his son operating at first team level.

    Nothing to see here.
