Some other message, like the one you propose, and maybe headed by our senior players could have a lot more impact. Dont know what the ticket boost was when Cannigia signed but maybe Charlie could help along with Cummings McMullen and Gowser?
Last Wednesday morning I attended the Dundee FC in the Community Trust ‘Dundee Together’ meeting held by Zoom about the Bonetti Brothers time as managers of Dundee FC.
It was stated that the signing of Cannigia resulted in 4,000 season tickets being sold.
Obviously the club can no longer afford signing a marque signing like Cannigia ( they could not really afford to sign Cannigia either but back then it was money no object). However in my opinion the Dundee FC board of directors need to be innovative and use other ways to get fans through the turnstiles at Dens. Selling a book of six tickets for home games which is slightly less than six PATG home games would be a step forward.
Some Dundee supporters due to shift work etc can only attend a percentage of home games which does not justify buying a season ticket but purchasing a book of six tickets might suit their needs.
Everyone is looking for a bargain whilst the club gets their money up front.
I would be like purchasing a 12 timer for the swimming baths in Dundee
Introducing a Pay at the Gate turnstile(s) for the South Enclosure might encourage former Dundee supporters to return to Dens.
Deeranged is correct that we need a decent team on the park but the club cannot wait until the second half of each season for this to happen.
They need to think up gimmicks to get bums on seats!

Well, you’ve not come up with anything. The 6 game tickets never going to happen, and I doubt it would make much difference either.

On the contrary I have previously read posts about Dundee supporters not renewing their season ticket because they had changed their employment which has resulted in them not being able to attend enough home games to justify purchasing a season ticket.
A number of new golf clubs owned by by private companies now offer as an alternative to a full membership the opportunity for people to purchase 20 rounds of golf throughout the season and they can purchase extra rounds of golf at a reduced rate.
It would be interesting to know how many people purchase a season ticket at Dens for the next season having never had one before.
Three years ago a couple of Dundee supporters using their owner initiative carried out an investigation headed Dundee Football Club Season Tickets and PATG Price Study. https://www.dee4life.com/files/15538...cingReport.pdf
It was carried out during the 2017-18 season when we were in the Premier League. After completing the enclosed study they sent it to John Nelms. They never received a reply let alone an acknowledgement from John Nelms.
This study has been sitting in the Download and Minutes section of the Dee4life Trust website for over the past two years and it is well worth a read.

That's not a report on a study though; it's an essay based on comparison, assumption and opinion.

If this was sent to me I'd read the title and expect there would be some research based results to digest so I'd go to the executive summary - there isn't one - so I'd go to the end summary. I'd see the acronym IMO and I'd immediately write the 'study' off. John Nelms is quite a busy guy and I expect that's pretty much what he's done. If he did read any more of the end summary he'd see criticism of his policies.

Are you really surprised he didn't respond to it? I'm not.

At least these two supporters made an effort to try to do a report.
Sitting in the Directors Box John Nelms must see the gaps getting bigger and bigger in the South Enclosure each season from August 2013 until the last home game at Dens on 10th March 2020 when fans were admitted.
Doing nothing in my opinion is not an option.

Yes they did make that effort, and good on them as it possibly needs done, however it was commissioned by DFCSS by the look of it and not by the club. If the club is ever going to look at a report of this type, and take its contents and conclusions seriously, they'll commission it and allow access to the real data that they have. They certainly won't accept the contents and conclusions of a random and very high level unsolicited report.

Now I'll ask again, are you surprised the club didn't respond to it?

Deeranged, you are quite right in saying that the club should be doing a report. I started this thread to try to get some ideas about things that might be done. I think it is important to try to sell the sizzle of buying something. No matter what division we are in next season we are either going to be excited about a return to the SPL or excited about winning the Championship. That seems worth working on at Board level. I think it would send out the wrong message if we just saw the same well worn Early Bird pricing which I imagine has delivered diminishing ST Sales for the last 3 years.

By the way, I would have expected an acknowledgement of receipt of the report mentioned by Islay. That would be polite.I would not expect any detailed response.

It was not commissioned by DFCSS. It was carried out independently by two loyal Dundee supporters.
