I want to see someone really get hold of our defence. Irrespective of individual favourites, we are positionally dreadful and lack concentration when it matters.
Interestingly, Skybet have John Terry as 3rd favourite after Wilder and McInnes. Not really my cup of tea...but he would really sort us out at the back !

Wilder would be my choice. Sheff Utd are a similar sized club to the Albion - think he would be a safe choice. Knows his way around the Championship. Ok SU got relegated last year as well - but they were very unlucky with injuries and having a small squad with limited funds made it impossible to repeat the previous season.

Hmm, I am interested. I remember Maresca as a player but can somebody fill me on what he has been doing in a managerial/coaching capacity. I am in the dark.

Appleton has done well at every club he has managed.
Lincoln have scored 100 goals this season .
If he hadn't been here before, I'm sure his name would come up with fans.
What I don't want is a Pardew type, hope we don't go just for a name.
Some managers can only manage with a big budget.
Pep made a great comment a couple of months ago, if Wilder was here he would fighting for the championship, if I was at Sheffield I would be fighting the drop.
Wilder built a team on a budget, think he would be a good choice.

I would not want John Terry. I want a manager who I can respect as well as someone with the tactical nous. I'm afraid that Terry does not fit the former criteria.

The thing is for me is , whoever comes in we have to start again everyone will have a clean canvas so he will start to play everyone to see what the best squad is where big Sam had mostly knew his strongest 11 & not played the crap we all know who they are , it's a time consuming thing to sort out , by the time it takes we could be a 3rd through the season & be behind the pace ,

Good point about Appleton. Maresca would be an interesting one but why would he leave Man. City to come to a club that isn’t will to provide adequate funds for a promotion push? Similarly, Wilder. I wouldn’t be surprised to see McInnes get the gig.

Was youth team manager at Milan, then last year become head of development for Man City youth team.

Very much in the Pep style of play mold, they are the one of the best youth sides in the country and have just won Premier League 2. I guess its easier to play in that style when you have the better players, but next season we should have one of the strongest squads in the Championship.

Recently linked with the Celtic job. I think its a matter of time before he becomes a #1 somewhere. Must have some great contacts in the game. And you would think Man City would be open to loaning us their younger players, if he continues to play in that manner.

You would also think he would help develop our younger players. Lets be honest, the only way we will compete in the Prem is if we develop our younger players (a bit like Southampton), as we aren't going to outspend even the mid-lower table Prem clubs.
