Our defence is settled now, Jeando is starting to make his mark and the last couple of months’ worth of performances were top six stuff, no question. With the addition of a couple of signings plus the youth starting to break through, we have the beginnings of a good squad. Every season is tough, no question, but I reckon we’ve got a good shout at next season. Currently Hibs, Celtic and The Rangers are the outstanding sides but currently we have no idea what sort of shape clubs are going to be in next year. Hearts are really not good and need major rebuilding, Livingston you can’t really see repeating what they did last year, Aberdeen I genuinely think are going to struggle after the lunatic dismissal of McInness plus the signings they’re making and the fact that guys like Ferguson seem to want the phuck out of Dodge, should they get up Funny FC will be, well, just funny and even Hibs may lose Doig, Nisbet and Boyle.

I think we are at the beginning of an upward cycle. Much work yet still needs to be done of course but we have safely passed the first test of negotiating our first season back up. Bigger tests are yet to come of course but I genuinely think we are in decent shape and heading in the right direction
Me too mate. Every season is different. We should be aiming for top 6 this season which is perfectly doable.

We cant be worrying about team like St Mirren, Motherwell, County, Livi, even Hearts, St Johnstone and Aberdeen! we should be looking to finish above them all. I get we cant get too ahead of ourselves. But with our current squad if you can add around 3 players at the same level as Edwards and Fuchs (say a centre mid, a winger and a striker) we'll be top 6 next season in my humble opinion.

St Johnstone have just won the cup double and will be pulling in millions through European qualification. I'm staggered tbh that a team on their budget has pulled off something that I don't think has been done before outside of the ugly sisters, but we most definitely have to aim high. This season feels very flat now tbh.

    Priorities for me

Number 1 top goalkeeper if Benjy sold as he has saved us so many times this season

    Wide midfielder or two

    Back up left back

Centre half if Kerr smith sold

    Another centre mid

    Like others don’t rate Harkes

I think we should keep shanks as insurance to keep us up

Priority for me is clarity over the future of the manager. Far too much speculation going on in certain quarters to be able to look forward to next season. There's no smoke without fire and the silence from within the club is deafening. Not sure how we can prepare for next season if there are goings on behind the scenes that we don't know about. We really need stability at this moment in time.

On the playing side and at the very least -

    A keeper if Benji goes.
    A left back.
A creative midfielder (one of these years I'll get my wish).
    At least one winger.
    A striker.

We definitely need Mellon next season.

Someone inheriting that squad otherwise is going to struggle

Don't really know much about manager leaving apart from what heard on here which sounds like rumours started by supporters that want him gone(not from this board though) and manager denying it a couple of times and talking about the future here.I just don't understand why he would still be manager if he was leaving does not make much sense for the club or him?

Actually you can count the ‘local’ press from D(F)C Thomson who are the main schit stirrers when it comes to Mellon. They had him off to Doncaster a couple of weeks ago by now, until, er, Doncaster appointed somebody completely different. Who needs friends eh?.....................
