Ardley To Barrow

At the moment the signs are looking very good, few games ago the opposite. We will never know if Ardley would have turned it around and we don’t know if IB is going to be a success but on reflection he does certainly seems to have got them playing some great stuff now so hopefully it was the right decision, I’d be more than happy if Notts go up and be wrong in thinking Ardley should have got the rest of the season.

its not a trick question , none of us are prophets.
So we can only make judgements about the here and now and also what has gone before.
So compared with what was going on with Ardley as the manger and what is happening now would you concede that things are better
with IB in charge at the moment ,as it stands now it is the right decision? from what you have said I would say you agree , I certainly do.
Off course it could go t1t5 up , but then again it could have done with Ardley , some say it was already

you always think he's on a wind up , have you ever considered he's the real deal.
His mission came out well before we or I ever heard of Laddo or got wound up by him.
To be honest your probably more of the wind up merchant by keeping on saying he's on a wind up , Tw@tt0 to is real in his love of Ardley and the mission.

I was firmly of the opinion that NA would not get us promoted after we blew the opportunity in last season's final.

A new manager has come in and completely transformed the same players. He has made them attacking and free scoring , in the main dominant and controlling games and create a hatful of chances.
He has turned discarded players into the first names on the team sheet. He has got goals spread around the entire team so teams now find it hard to stop us playing.
Under Ardley none of this was happening yet the pro Ardley camp refuse or fail to see there was a problem with him, grinding out a result was the order of the day , being outplayed was acceptable if we sneaked a point against a mid table mediocre team as we all know a point is to be respected no matter who the opponents were.
it would be nice if they were to put their hands up and say you know what , we were actually wrong about him, The football he played was dour and rubbish and what we are seeing at the moment is a joy and long may it continue.mind you what's the quote "it takes a real man to admit when he's wrong" ,

I see you and the other pro Ardley supporters are at it again, you just cant stop singing Ardley,s praises can you ?

Thankfully Ardley has gone, all be it over 2 years to late

Ardley was the worst manager ever, his starting record of 1 win from 12 was worse than fullartons, let that sink in for a minute, and also the key match against macclesfield at home that Ardley blew, nothing to do with the chairman that game, or all the other excuses you bring to defend Ardley, as Macclesfield had even worse problems

All this nonsense about how we had a poor start to last season due to off field events , tosh as most of the team remained from the relegation season
It was Ardley negative and defensive tactics that got us no where, not only that he was heavily backed by both chairman, and rarely won a key match

Not even close to being worse than Sam Allardyce when he first arrived. He got us relegated and then bounced straight back. Had the season not been curtailed, I honestly believe we'd have gone up as champions with all the fixtures left to play. You also say never won key matches yet you forget about Mansfield at Home, Barrow Away etc.

Also the majority of the team didn't stay. Certainly not the ones that were needed. Let's have a look at what he had to work with shall we:

Fitzsimmons - hopeless

Tootle - totally lost it, fullback who couldn't stop crosses

Bird - may have played OK but trained horribly by all accounts

Oxlaide-Chamberlain - signed by Hardy because of his brother, evidence football ability isn't genetic

Crawford - seemed quite small but decent and possibly should have been used more

Doyle - used extensively

O'Brien - legs may be fading but still used extensively

Osbourne - an untested youth player at the time

Mitch Rose - used extensively

Enzio - Used extensively

Campbell - youth player

Hemmings - sold as very expensive

Dennis - probably not used enough


From this, we can see that yes, he probably could have thrown a side together, but the defence which was always the issue the season before would have been awful. He managed to keep the midfield together and did have proven forwards if not massively expensive and draining of a budget for a club on its knees.
