Yeah Ross played for Rangers for about 30 odd games, Michael Doyle’s played about 1000 games and at a better level, we have the perfect partnership, lock him in.
I agree that this partnership suits both parties and Doyle would be better of where he his.
Ardley had a soft spot for Doyle and just might see him as a player still and wedge him in for his assistant
Unless of course he could be tempted by the comedic genius .. I mean football genius Abbott...?

Players and managers all seem to love Doyle so he's got that part already, as long as he could learn tactically then could be a good team. MR was much further ahead in terms of his own tactical knowledge so depends if IB feels he needs someone to help with that side or whether he's ready to teach Doyle. Either way things seem good at the moment so long may it continue!

There maybe some other scenario I’ve missed, but I think that about covers it.

So, what I was trying to say, is there anything further to say on the matter that hasn’t already be said/written? As I stated in my previous post, I should of added the ?
Situation 4: he was never good enough to or should have managed Notts County

It’s deserving of a totally new thread to re-hash the whole thing again.

Perhaps? What’s different to what has already been said?

Situation 4 is valid and in a lot of fans eyes is surely the most common scenario.

Whether that's the truth or not is another matter of course.

Anyway, why can’t folk just move on. Whatever your opinion of Ardley and the circumstances he managed in, he’s gone. Owners made the decision, proving to be the correct one. End of discussion.

Enjoy the moment and leave bitterness or love to NA/other posters behind. Move on.
Ah another big Ardley fan along with chicken
I have not been corrected previously, as mansfield, Barrow ( because they had 10 men ) , and Barnet ( a weak squad) were not key matches
The key matches were Macclesfield ( the loss that relegated us) , and Harragate ( the loss that made us stay in the National league)
As for saying Sam Allardyce did worse than Ardley, don,t make me laugh, Sam was and will always be so far ahead of Ardley in managerial terms, a comparison to Ardley, frankly is an insult
It is you pro Ardley supporters who have been corrected in that Ardley was the worst manager ever, why don,t you just admit it

I always thought the loss at Swindon was the one that got us relegated?
