If this fkn nobody gets the gig I won't be back until that arsehole Asghar has gone. I've never felt so detached from United as I do right now![]()
Spot on!!
After the turmoil over the past few seasons and manager merry-go-round, I genuinely feared for the worst this season, due to bad prep, caused by covid and the court shenanigans, as well as RN jumping ship.
We started great under Mickey, but then we were playing eye-bleeding football a large part of the season, BUT we were stable and picking up points, that met our primary objective, safety. The cup run was a nice bonus.
Like others, was genuinely looking forward to seeing Mickey put his own stamp on the team this season, and see how we’d progress, but alas, will never know....like “snakes and ladders”, we’re back to square one ffs!
The last thing we need, is an inexperienced manager, in what is a very competitive and cut-throat league, and surprised those in power don’t appear to see that (even though they’re surely aware of the managerial turnover of the past few seasons), baffling!!
I really hope we don't go down this route. Don't get me wrong, If he does get the job then I will support him like many others however I feel it is a massive risk to appoint a rookie with little professional experience. By all accounts he is well respected and liked within Tannadice but this is too far left field which could set us back if it goes wrong. If this was the way we had planned then he should have been put on the coaching staff under Neilson or Mellon to gain that experience of coaching with the first team with the view of becoming manager 2/3 years down the line rather than the way it seems now. Thrown into it out of nowhere.
For me McInnes is the man. Safe pair of hands and can help push us on to the level we want to get to. His track record is very good. He will have a point to prove to the Cormack boy at Aberdeen for the way he left there. He knows the club and the league so its a no brainer for me. We should be looking for someone like McInnes or Robinson. Managers who have a track record of getting teams into the top six. A show of ambition from the club is needed to suggest we are fancying top six next season. Going for Courts only suggests one thing.....we are skint.
I'm hoping this is Ashgar leaking stories to the press to "test the water" He seemed to do that last year with MacKay and McClaren then ended up with Mellon. So hopefully this is all smoke screen to the unveil McInnes or someone like him as manager
The whole youth thing is giving me the fear. There's far too much focus on it. Giving Courts the Head Coach gig is just a desperate attempt to fast track youth through to try and make money for the owner. I'm positive this is all Asghar is concerned about and that its gonna come back and bite us on the arse big time.
