Has anyone seen Mulgrew play in the last 2/3/4/5 years? Hard to see how anyone can argue for or against on the basis of nothing. 23 games for Fleetwood last season before injury ruled him out in Feb. He may well do a job for us until Smith is ready to play a full season. He may also be pish. One things for sure, he'll have the best set piece delivery we've seen at the club in about 10 years.
Drama queen's? If having concerns about the way the board and their yes men are going about their business then yes I'm a fkn drama queen. You can't be happy with what's going on,surely?
For what it's worth I'd be happy if Mulgrew signed for us but a 2 year deal is questionable to say the least. A 1 Yr deal with another year extension depending on how the 1st Yr goes would be more ideal.
Smeddum I praise the club where I think it deserves it. But if theres something I'm concerned about I'm not going to hold back.
I've said long before this week that our recruitment is patchy at best. A few successes but a few headscratchers. I think weve signed players at times purely based on the sell on model instead of just being a good technical player who will add to the quality in the side.
I think St Mirren St Johnstone and even Livingston have recruited pretty well and are ahead of us at the present time.
I think the recruitment policy is possibly one of the reasons that MM has parted company with the club.
I can give examples if you want.
The Euros will be along soon enough!
Ok I'll give you a starter. Before the season began we were crying out for someone technically better in midfield, a player who could knit the defence to attack.
We didn't sign anyone at all in that department.
With Chalmers injured we were crying out for a wide player who had good delivery because the full backs we were going into the season with didn't offer that. We could have got a player like Conway on one year deal to bridge that gap but instead we signed Hoti, "premiership ready" but off to Forfar on loan.
Looking back I think when MM used the term Premiership ready he was having a private pop at TA, I think he was already concerned that he wasn't getting the players he needed.
Apologies Whitfield, that last reply was for ArabChnid
Not doubting you mate but was trying to think of who these players you think we have signed purely based on selling them on instead of them being good technical players who could add to the quality of the side? Not doubting you have a few examples but I cant think of any but would be interested to hear who they are.
