Could Derby County C.E.O. Lose His Position on the E.F.L. Board

Derby County chief executive officer Stephen Pearce, could be removed from
his position on the EFL board, with Stoke City's Tony Scholes a potential
replacement, according to reports.
Derby County C.E.O. Pearce has been on the EFL board since 2019.
But with Derby County in a lengthy battle with the EFL, over their amortization
policy, Pearce has been caught in the middle, with a potential conflict of
interest in play
The Daily Mail newspaper claims Derby County's championship rivals, have
complained about the situation.
The EFL board consists of 9 people, with representatives from the championship,
Division 1 & 2 plus & 3 independent people.
One of the championship representative's on the board, will be elected next
month, after Bristol City C.E.O. Mark Ashton departed his role in the organisation.
His place is up for grabs, with Stoke City's Tony Scholes & Preston North End's
Peter Risdale potential replacement's.(But if Pearce goes, there could be 2 places)

One of the main talking points with the upcoming election, could be related to
Financial Fair Play. With Stoke City's C.E.O. Scholes keen for clubs to have more
spending leeway.
Derby County avoided breaking F.F.play rules following the sale of Pride Park,
to owner Mel Morris.
[ With Stoke City's Scholes wanting to pursue more spending leeway, this puts
the smaller clubs, under more pressure surely. ]

The board consists of 9 directors, 6 from football clubs, as follows.
3 directors from championship clubs
2 directors from Division 1 clubs
1 director from division 2 clubs.

The remaining 3 directors are independent of clubs, & include

Simon Bazalgette - Independent Non-Executive Director
