Is this not a bit of a red herring? Of all the youngsters only Chalmers imo was ready for the Premiership and he spent most of the season recovering from injury. Glass ditto recovering from injury.
I suppose it wouldn't be a red herring if TA was asking for youngsters to play that in MM's opinion weren't ready. But we don't know that. Do we?!

That's why they all went out on loan. I don't think this season was the season for all the young players. Even next season I think a lot should still be out on loan. Chalmers and Appere are first team squad guys. Mochrie also, along with Smith. Neilson should probably get another loan, same with Fotheringham. Freeman and Meekison should start the season being in the squad. Other players like Watson and Cooney would be much better off getting 20-30 games on loan, rather than a half dozen sub appearances.

All of this is speculation fuelled by MM leaving. The fact he went back to Tranmere so quickly can't be coincidental can it?

Can't be I think it was all lined up when they got rid of benny hill. It is what it is maybe there was an understanding that things werent what they wanted it to be and i understand his missus may have wanted a return. These things happen - i like MM and wish him all the best. I recall all the brutal football then the abredeen quarter final. How can the same team do that? Anyway it is pretty much set that Tony has control of sourcing players etc but i still think there is consultation and approval from head coach - if not we arent likely to get an experienced manager in.
