Mellon was unsettled up here, don't think the pandemic made things easier. United board were like the fans, happy with the results, disappointed with the performances. This saved United money from sacking Mellon and made it easier to go back to Tranmere since there would be no compensation.

When Mellon came in, Courts was always the long term plan as the replacement manager (hence all the rumours since MM left), but was never the plan for it to be this early. Will be another manager in and when/if that manager leaves in 2-3 years then Courts will take over.
Also to add, there is no 'outstanding' candidate, its quite open at the moment. Wouldn't surprise me if there is a surprise appointment (I don't mean inexperienced like Courts, I mean a guy that hasn't been talked about much, or at all)
That's what I said. Didn't realise I made any predictions. Only thing I said was a week ago there was no 'outstanding' candidate. The fact (lol) we haven't appointed anyone yet probably says that was/is the case

Yes you did make predictions here is what you said.

    You also posted this.

"Courts might not be officially on the coaching team, but would be learning from the manager behind the scenes. That is what was happening with Mellon."

Let's not let the facts get in the way of a good story though.

Has a manager been appointed yet? Did I say that was happening within a couple of days?

I didn't say you said it was definite, I said you were the only one talking about that rumour

Here is what you actually said with no mention of any rumour.

"To be fair the only person who has mentioned Tony being in Portugal with 'his players' is you."

Anyway back to the original point i was making, on the 31st of May we had moved to the interview stage according to the EBC and i think tHeArAb put this story up.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57305421

As of today 6th of June none of us have heard even a snippet from the club or anyone else that certain potential employee's have been interviewed. That is why i suggested that maybe the rumours of The Big Man being in Portugal are valid which would explain why no such interviews have taken place.

Just in case there are any doubts here is what my thinking is.

1,Someone at the club who has asked not to be quoted has said we have moved to the interview stage but meant after the holiday's.

2,Someone at the club has been drip feeding the media with potential experienced NO2's to help a fish out of water in the dugout next season.

3 The club has been turned into a complete basket case being run by a man out of his depth.

Take your pick,i'm hoping its NO1.
