I’ve just been looking at the candidates tipped for consideration for the Albion manager job; for the first time I see Chris Coleman in the list! Please NO! If you are of the opinion that Appleton would be bad, then surely Coleman would be far, far worse? The list I saw did not include Derek McInnes, but who knows, anyway?

I would say that the list of potential Managers not only reflects a lack of ambition but also our status within the game.

We are set up as a decent Championship club who can get promoted when our recruitment is good. A bit like many others, including Norwich, Nottm Forest, Derby, Watford etc. Players and Managers come to us either because we will pay them better than other clubs at the time, or because it is their bets option at the time. Add to that the fact we seem to have no medium to long term recruitment or replacement plans in place.

This is why it takes so long for us to get any deal, player or Manager, over the line in my opinion.

While agreeing with your comments, the bottom line is that we won't pay the going rate for any aspect of the game. This is our major problem.

If we are going for the old boy's club again then Derek M is a better shout than Appleton.
Don Howe, Bryan Robson, Darren Moore, how many more times until the club realise it doesn't work?

Appleton a league 1 manager who clearly was devoid of any ideas to beat Blackpool! Embarrassing being linked with him but Dowling will ruin this club!

    Shambolic!

Appleton being appointed will at least save me £200+ as I will not be renewing my season ticket.
