''You needed to change around a mentality with a fairly new group of players in a very short space of time.

The mentality around the camp was something that needed changing.

However, we thought if we ‘littered’ the team with new faces that the fans would be able to get behind them a little bit more and in turn change the atmosphere around the club as they hadn’t been here when the club was sinking. I think we did well to take it to the final day, especially when Macclesfield had put together a good patch of form. However, I do believe that although I take full responsibility for it .. Notts deserved to go down''.

I'm not so sure it was only the 'mentality' of the players that needed changing, IMHAHO. Ardley never was and most prob never will be a 'firefighter'. Wrong manager at the wrong time.

Load of cobblers, "take it to the final day"? What about the rest of the season? I know he wasn't to blame for what state we were in before he came but all he had to do was win more game.

It's a manager's job to change the mentality of the players and he knows that just 'littering' the team willy-nilly with new players just to please the fans won't work.

Time for certain posters to let Neal bloody Ardley go. I'm sick to death of reading about him.

He's an incredibly average manager who (mostly) failed at Notts. He's been sacked and replaced. He doesn't need to be mentioned again.

The day before a playoff semi-final and we're talking about Neal bloody Ardley. The mind boggles!
