High intensity does feel like it's the way forward for successful teams. Tactics have progressed to leave the regressive containment tactics behind. Pulis hasn't been successful for years and in his last few roles but no one knew how to deal with his Stoke team from years back. Mourinho has a similar cautious style but he hasn't succeeded managerially for years.

Leeds are the pinnacle of a high press team and they are flourishing. We need to get rid of those with lethargy and get with the times tactically.

This is going to take quite the recruitment process, which we absolutely need. If we want to play in the same style as Leeds, which I'm in favour of, we need energetic players. Gallagher stood out for us last season purely because of his box-to-box energy. We will need a few Gallaghers for this high press and high energy tactic, not just in midfield either.

We no longer have Dowling, which isn't all that bad in my view, but who will identify these players? I read an article on how Brentford have been using statistical data to analyse and scout new players for the last few years. We need to put in place a similar structure. The right or wrong recruitment will make or break our season. Its why we had a successful few years when Ashworth was here.
