That's the only way I see us not finishing top 7 and even then it would have to be a long term injury with an unsuccessful replacement.

I'm very confident of a play off finish and that's before the last two two performances and results.

Over the last 10 games The Magpies are second only to The Cheetahs, with 23 points to their 24, thanks to our Eastleigh slip-up.

It's everyones aim but it's a difficult task challenging for top spot at the business end of the season only a 2 maybe 3 at a push manage it.

Point gained on Grimsby, two points lost on Chesterfield. More twist and turns to come with huge game up next.

One for EIite to ponder, I currently have £10 at 2-1 on us to finish top three, return £30, cash out £8. I am now considering cashing out, therefore £2 worse off, but placing returned £8 on us at 7-2 to finish top three. If successful it would return £36 minus two pounds lost gives a return of £34, so potentially £4 better off.
I must say in my current positive frame of mind, a cheeky tenner on us winning it at 14's is very tempting.
Also one for Elite, have you heard of Adrian Massey's website, a veritable cornucopia of horse racing stats well worth a gander, keeps me busy for hours.

Cashing out early to get better odds makes sense if you fancy us to make the top 3.

I've seen it in the past, but must admit I'd forgotten about it. I am a fan of stats, so now you've mentioned it I'll probably spend a few hours on there as well now jump racing will soon be taking centre stage.

A bit of an update on the current best odds on offer:

    Champions - 9/1 (William Hill)
    Promotion - 4/1 (Betfred)
    Top 3 finish - 6/4 (Skybet)
    Top 7 finish - 2/9 (William Hill)

I think the 9/1 (10% chance) on us winning it is pretty generous, so I've had a few quid on. That's based on the assumption that it will be won by us, Chesterfield, Wrexham, Stockport or Halifax (20% chance), and the fact we have a fair few games against those at the bottom end to come. Promotion and top 3 finish also look a bit overpriced. I've already done top 7 finish at far better odds.

    Thanks for the update.

9/1 certainly is very generous so don't blame anyone taking those odds, gotta be worth a tenner for anyone who likes a flutter. I'm superstitious especially when it's linked to my own team so will try and resist but at 9s that won't be easy.

Looking at those latest odds the 5/6 I got for my one big bet on a top 7 finish back in July sure looks good currently

My other season long bet of Chesterfield to win it at 10s looks even better as they are now best priced 13/8 to win the title. Not that I want them to win it naturally.

I took that bet and could cash out early with a modest profit. I'm not even slightly tempted.

That's good to hear. I'd feel dirty if I cashed out either of my season long bets early.

I should really stick £20 on Notts at 9s but that would jinx us so won't. Club before beer money.

I think it’s very generous, Chesterfield have had a cracking start but if you read up behind the results they haven’t been great. I dare say on a performance consistency basis over the last 10 games we have been best, obviously Stockport have picked up, but I would say it’s anyone’s to win.
