Mick, I was diagnosed over 20 years ago, although they describe my condition as pre glaucoma. Have to go for regular checks (9 monthly) but my condition has not deteriorated in all that time, controlled by drops in both eyes. Don' be confused (as I was ) when they tell you your pressures, mine generally come in around 20/21, as I say never required intervention. My boss on the other hand was measured at 14 and he has needed frequent drains in the eyes. Apparently "your level", like many things, is determined by your own physiology. I am NHS and never had any problems with appointments or treatment, even during Covid. The only embarrassment is I'm such a regular visitor at Russells Hell ( I have other eye issues unrelated) that all the staff recognise me on site and we are on first name terms! as others have said treatment if necessary is nothing to worry about. I have had Laser, Needles in the eye and Lens replacements with no problems at all.
