I mentioned this earlier but I think the Tories are now going for herd immunity in England. They actually want the virus to spread around, it's the only conclusion I can land on from the latest policy decisions. It may well be right but, as you say, it is increasing the risk of problematic new variants.

I was staggered to hear the new English health secretary saying there will be 100,000 cases a day when they lift restrictions,he was as laid back as Tam when he said it tae.
