He’d already fallen out with the manager, not convinced he’d have kept us up! Today’s Kamara might have

Insisted? We could have frozen him out, paid his wages, lost more money and then got nothing.
In the meantime if the guy looking away, likely not a great influence and better gone.

It’s only being debated now because he will probably go for big money, but he wasn’t that player at dens

A blind man could see he was a player, yes insisted on the clause. Would be have gambled on his international career not playing for his club at the time? It was also debated at the time.

In the last 6 months of a contract we would have been unable to insist on anything, the gamble would have been on a 3 year deal not a 2 year deal.

He signed a pre-contract with der hun and from that moment on we were snookered, there would be no insisting on anything. Sure we could have simply let him rot but as i said the cost of that would have been about 100k.

We cud have said 50k and a sell on clause or no deal. Either him or rangers might have crumbled. He may have helped keep us up.

Likewise they might have said no, he’s have not been in the team due to his lack of commitment at that time and injury avoiding.

    Can’t see how that’s a win

Regardless of the ins and outs of contracts and sell-ons and whether he should have been allowed to leave for £50k or not, it’s generally accepted that he stopped trying for DFC. The employer who was paying his wages.

Happy to be corrected, but I can’t remember many Dundee players over the past 40 years who simply downed-tools for whatever reason.

The fact that he did makes him an embarrassment of a footballer, so f uck him and f uck Rangers.

Alan Gilzean and Ian Ure sat in the stand. Different days, and fans understood their decision.
