Run up normally, twat the ball as hard as you can into either corner and no 'keeper is stopping them.

All this stop, start shite fucks me right off. I'd rather it went sailing over the bar like Waddler's.

    Agreed. Just smash it.

I did feel for Saka though, having a 19 year old take that pen.

Particularly when you had Sterling and Grealish who take pens for their clubs standing htere.

two players brought on in Sancho and Rashford to take penalties, both had their efforts saved.

    Game management to blame.

England scored early and never pressed home their advantage.

Subs to late, probably not the right decisions.

If you are gonna replace Sterling with Rashford because Sterling isnt going to take a penalty why not give him the 2nd half of extra time, fresh legs, eager to displace the Man City player in the first team?

and Penalty No.5 is given to a 19 yr old. Lambs to the slaughter.

    Shocking!

    Agreed on game management.

I felt Southgate was much to late with his subs.

It went from sticking with his team, to sheer stubborness.

It should never have got to penalties. Gareth was going for 1-0 win after 2 minutes. A better coach would’ve tried to kill off the game on the counter instead of inviting the inevitable.
Playing at home with a squad full of pacey attackers playing a team with two centre backs with a combined age of 70.
At 1-0 we offered nothing and I’m not doing a Captain hindsight because it was clear to see what was coming.
Unlucky and disastrous shoot out - well played Pickford, though and I agree, why Saka for that pen?

As above - crâp game management by Møngate, that’s two winnable games in two tournaments but hey, Sir Twátaith will be in charge in Qatar - Haz-a-bad-a-fücking-do…

Usual Southgate dross, score after 2 minutes then dont trouble their goalkeeper again, 2nd half starts and as usual we sat back trying to hold on and of course it failed,Bring on Henderson then take him off and bring on Grealish far to late. You cant bring players on with 1 minute left and expect them to be up to the pace of the game and take a confident penalty,Southgate chose the 5 penalty takers so no wonder the list was all over the place,Sterling Grealish Phillips should all have been in the 5 felt sorry for poor Saka having to take the 5th under so much pressure.

After Shaw's goal England never threatened their goalie again, it was a poorly managed game. The penalties were a 'kin joke, as Zip says, hard and low in the corner every time and the goalie has little chance. Unimpressed.

Like I stated on the other thread, the UK have some of the best and the worst of fans.

But the regular, well-behaved, passionate fans are still in the majority and they should not be punished for the actions of fools.
