The UK has the main problem and not so much the EU countries and what does the scruffy fat one do - foolishly looks to rocket the daily infections of over 40,000 a day!

I would feel a damn sight safer on Guernsey or a quiet island like Menorca sitting around a villa pool reading a book!

I honestly think if infections rocket from the daily 40,000 at the moment it could sink Boris. Infections increased in Holland by 500% when they lifted their restrictions!

Boris has proven he’s a clown and listens to nobody except the mrs who probably has input on the countries decisions! Scary thought but most likely true
I think we are singing off the same hymn sheet. I may not have been clear perhaps in my previous post, but I see our Chief Minister in the same way as you see Boris. I suspect we have many more cases of COVID in the island, but these are not being identified as we are now not testing etc. as we once were. I will not go into another lockdown, I will not isolate again, I will not miss being with family, enough is enough. If it is safe to let all and sundry in and out without testing, then I will say fair play, but do not expect me to go through it all over again, if and when it goes tits up. I will not, and that is the end of it for me. If the big people says it’s safe then it’s safe, end of. No more crap, no more excuses.

I’ll stay local for the time being and see how the world pans out.

You can't make it up! Clowns are running this country and when infections go through the roof ie 100,000 a day from Monday onwards I hope the scruffy fat one resigns!

Perhaps the EU should do what the Greek PM suggested and ban all Brits from Europe as quite clearly this country has the far greater problem and it's going to get a lot worse from Monday..............

No problem with West Brom matches in four weeks time after Boris lets 60,000 plus go to Wembley and thousands of yobs waiting to storm the stadium from outside.
Why don’t the EU ban the Brits from coming? Anything to do with their economies being so dependent upon the British pounds being spent over their. The southern EU countries will do anything to get us over there.

And yes we are doing the same. Decisions being made heavily weighted by the economic realities that this isn’t going to go away.

Getting to a ‘living with the virus’ state is proving more difficult than most thought it would be and that includes countries that still remain in locked down to the rest of the world.

No easy solutions and ultimately it will be down to what the people do, not what the rules are.

Yes I would feel safe sat by the pool reading a book in Menorca, but I feel just a safe sat in my garden reading a book here. Sun is out again happy days.

Thank you Blood - hope your well mate! Learning to live with the illness with pains but the operation last year went well so fingers crossed. Can see us going back into lock down before the end of Summer!

We are BMG. Don't blame you as family are absolute priority! Your safer where you are than here which is some comfort for you.

There were two reasons communicated why restrictions were needed, in most European countries, I believe:

    - protect vulnerable groups
    - protect the capacity of the NHS

With the vaccination rates in Europe ”that’s done & dusted”.

    End of restrictions!

If not, we have a dismal future dystopia ahead of us (every cold and seasonal flu to be treated like Corona…) - 1984 Orwell, for instance.

The rights and freedom of people and democracy as a whole have really suffered the last 15-16 months.
