    At the start of a season, it says to all 4 players with Robson/Duffy on the other side that if you want to keep your place, you better play well as you now have real competition. Smith/Robson dropped out and 2 guys came in and grabbed their chance, and if the established players dont make a good enough contribution, beware!

    Not sure Smith or Robson were 'dropped'. Was it no' a combination of injury or suspension?

    Apart from that, I absolutely agree; competition for that 1st team jersey is something every good club needs.

    To me, "dropped out" has a different meaning to "being dropped".

    Other than that, I have concerns about Mulgrew lasting full games, but if he gives us that every game, all concerns will be forgotten!
