If we're going with 3 at the back then I can't see us signing any wingers tbh. The focus there has to be the full backs. Smith and Robson are both poor going forward and we'll struggle offensively if we're relying on them to work the channels and create chances. By all accounts it seems like Freeman has played the wing back role better than Smith while Duffy is already being touted as potentially better than Robson. A creative midfielder is a must however. We have Mochrie but is he ready to be the main man in that role? Or does Courts see his best position as further forward?
A physical striker to give us a bit of edge, and a different option up front would be good. Looking at how we have played so far, I can see how the St Mirren lad that went to Hibs would have been targeted, similar position to Butcher by all accounts but better on the ball, would have been good to build through and take pressure off the defence.
Good post mate. I’m kinda in this camp too. I think the speed in which everything changed caught many of us out. But I have to say I have enjoyed the football the last couple of games, and as I have mentioned before I have no doubt there is plenty of work going on regarding new signings. I don’t think we are in as bad a position as some appear to think. TC has got his own team in and I for one will be right behind him. Like I have always been with every newly appointed manger. I don’t intend to criticise or buy into any negativity. New season round the corner and we have all but qualified from the group with a team that was essentially the same as last season where we struggled. For me TC appears to be doing something right at this stage. Time will tell. But for now COME ON UNITED!
I never enjoyed the Kelty game at all,i enjoyed most of the Elgin game and yesterday it was 50/50 its funny how we all see the same games so differently.
I will be over the moon if i'm saying the exact same as the above after our first three league games but to be honest to say there are worries is an understatement.
Fair play to Tam so far as the actual results go because i fully expect us to beat East Fife this week which would give us maximum points in our group and exceed my expectations before a ball was kicked.
