I know it is boring but in modern football summer recruitment every year is the make or break for all clubs. Get it right and you are in for a good season. Get it wrong and you are potentially in a relegation fight and you are stuck with players that are hard to get rid of unless you take a big financial hit.

Can’t see many queuing up to buy Zahore, Sawyers for example for big money so it makes balancing the books tough once you get it wrong and we have done that a lot over the last 3 or 4 years.

Is this April Fools! Balancing the books - ha ha. Fat Sam would have been most likely on twice what Val is on - large number of players left and hardly any through the door. In addition the parachute payments and the sale of Pereira and Johnstone looming. Is this balancing the books or is it a slope into Lai’s pocket?

Are Fulham balancing the books? West Brom fans would not protest if they were in league 2
unlike other clubs!

Does balancing the books mean yet again no striker since Gayle left and being stuck with Livermore and Sawyers who were not good enough in the championship before promotion!

PS - Harrogate have an owner who loves the club unlike our absolute W anker!!!
