Not a surprise our only "successful" creative signing in recent years has been McMullan and just how successful is highly debatable.

Fraser was hounded out of Tannadice by boos (poor timing for him to come through in fairness). I am not sure that we will find many creative players with more potential than the young players we have. Outside that, we simply can't afford an established creative player.

We should always hope, but lack of action doesn't necessarily equate to lack of effort

when played correctly he did a good job, most of Shanklands assists in the first few months of championship season came from him. it was only when Neilson started messing about with the 11 and forcing in Pawlett that changed. He then didn't get a game due to the way MM wanted to play, went to Dundee and pretty much single handidly turned around their season with great numbers. Of course id want us to sign players who could actually provide service to Shankland... wouldnt you?

the point is tho, Dundee significantly improved by signing a player on a free proving that there are players out there that can improve you if you find the right ones for how you want to set up.
