Really don't know who they have been tracking for 18 months know you don't think its ur job or any one on heres job to name players we should be signing so guessing it is the people who are doing that job and signing the players you are not happy with how they are doing their job but you think they are doing a pish job.I would love us to be signing brilliant players every other day but doubt that will happen know people on here expect great signings even though no one will mention who they want us to sign as it is not their job they just kind of want to say whoever we sign is not a good signing and they want better.

No one has said we want great signings. Signing to improve the team is what we want. If there is genuinely not one player in the entire footballing world who is available, on our budget and able to improve our team then fair enough. Hats off to the recruitment team for trying their hardest. I struggle to believe that however.

That's not what he said or meant. They've signed a player for nothing who will improve them. If they can, why can't we?

THink because he would not improve us we need better than him to improve us and it gets harder to find players to improve you the better the player you need.

You're not getting the point. These teams aren't signing players that would improve us, of course they aren't, but they're signing players that would improve them!! That's the point. If they can do it, why can't we?

never mind brilliant or great signings, id be happy with a couple of decent ones to improve on some of the absolute p1 sh we have in midfield. The fact we attempt to play Clark there shows how bad our current options are

How do you explain that the likes of St Mirren Livi Motherwell and St Johnstone have all signed better midfield players in recent times than we have? And not just midfielders tbh

Maybe it’s not so much about budget and more to do with players and agents no fancying United at this time? after all we’ve not been setting the world on fire with scintillating fitba, last season saw one good game ffs, and I can’t remember if there was a decent display the season before? Reckon we need to ride out the storm, hope we have a decent first half of the season and get clear of trouble, see the return of away fans which brings in the ***** funds needed to entice the players everyone wants to see at Tannadice, and then maybe we get back to where we like to think we should be.

The main thing for me though is encouragement, this is what these players, especially the young lads coming through will need from the support. Get behind the club lads, only four days to go so let’s be United ��������

100% agree know most fans I know are not so down on utd as they are on here but hope my lot are not minority and the negitives the majority and it shows in ground when we get back last thing these young guys need is a negitive support.

the point is tho, Dundee significantly improved by signing a player on a free proving that there are players out there that can improve you if you find the right ones for how you want to set up.

Think thats what every team is looking for just aint easy to find.

unfortunately, no agents have phoned me to let me know about their clients availability nor am i on the pay role of a professional football team specifically to find these targets. Its pointless suggesting players when you don't know their availability or can enquire about it. How many times have we heard about Asghars great connections? They are so great they cant find us someone to play in midfield instead of Clark?

Think that's an excellent post on several levels. You're also alluding to something I've felt unable to post, which is somehow we've maybe made ourselves unfashionable. Never thought I'd say that tbh. Appointing a rookie manager recently has maybe cemented that a bit.
