Sounds like was a success good they are talking to fans and explaining their selfs.Sounds like they are working away at bringing in the right players. They are never going to make everyone happy but hopefully this helps calm some of the more negative in the fan base.Met Bowman couple of time always came across a straight honest guy if he say place is being run far better than it was then I believe it.

For us it would seem. Most other teams have their recruitment in place which adds to the frustration.

Guessing utd could have rushed out at end of last season and got 3 or 4 players who would have jumped at signing for us there and then or they could have played the long game and picked players they wanted who might not be so keen to just sign straight away and weigh up their options which is fair enough.Seems a goalie they were working on decided he did not want to fight it out with benji for place wanted to be gaurenteed first team place what do you think utd should have done there another player wanted to sign for a team that is already in europe again what do you suggest utd do there?I think for a team like utd getting the right players in is not as simple as some think. They could sign players any day of the week but signing right players takes time or lots of money thats the way I see it anyway mate might be well wrong and they are just *****ing about for the sake of it.

Agree with this. How many folk will be happy if we go out and sign 4 players just to appease the fans, and in 12 months time, after they turn out to be ****e, we could be stuck with them and quite possibly be in the league below and stuck with them too. I hope the club are working furiously behind the scenes to sign players that they believe can help us hit the targets we failed to meet last season.

Looking forward to this afternoon and hoping it's one we can all enjoy 🤞🤞

Totally agree. Has everyone forgotten stuff like Jackie posing with about 8 new signings who in the majority were p1sh. Of course I'd love a signing or 5(Everton guy getting motm yesterday for hearts--were we even in there for him?). Willing to cut a tiny bit of slack--that might changed if we get cuffed today mind you.

Just because a player signs early in the window, it doesn't mean they are sh*te. I'm fairly certain teams signing players in June & July aren't just signing players to appease the fans. What if the targets that we've waited all window for then don't sign for us? It's a risky game. I'd be hoping we have 2 or 3 targets for either of the situations you mention that we could then fall back on. That's how recruitment should work. We clearly did for the GK position. It looks like we didn't for the CM position.

Players we are looking at are with clubs
Money is available to sign players
Said a player we want is an internationalist and was unexpectedly on the bench for his team last week
    Let the rampant speculation begin!

Yeah mate not saying all players who sign on day one of transfer window are crap but crap players are easier to sign better players are harder to get to come to tannadice for one reason or another like they fancy european football other teams can pay more they don't fancy playing in dundee like scott brown they have connections etc. Some better players might want to wait till nearer the end of transfer window to see what their best offer is.So if player you really fancy says he wants to wait till nearer the close of the window to decide what do you do tell him to do one and sign you'r second third or fourth choice who will sign right away or wait and see if you can get ur target? Not sure that is what is going on but is kind of the way I am seeing it.Wishing we had loads of money and could tempt players to sign straight away with great deals and signing on fees they could not refuse and we could have them for the whole of preseason rather than sign them after season has started but we just don't.Can see how you would like to see players signed earlier we all would but I would rather wait for a better player than take a lesser player earlier.
