Just watched the highlights as I fell asleep way before the game started. We need a finisher. Can't be missing chances like that. Birchnall was playing mind games over a new striker in his interview although I don't really understand why.

I don’t think he was playing mind games, just playing his cards close to his chest.

Correct. We have had managers and owners in the past who would be telling us we are definitely signing someone and we should be excited, only for it to fall through, allegedly.
I have no problem with any manager straight batting back a question about signing players. The fact IB said it’s likely to be at the end of the week indicated to me it’s not close OR the club we are signing him from are waiting on a signing of their own.

I guess it tells us that its someone who a few clubs might be in for. Let the guessing commence.

My only guess would be, it’ll be someone that nobody mentions!

Safe to say that 'adding up' isn't your strong suit.

    Shinnie
    Byrne
    Lawrence
    Bielek
    Buchanan

    = 2???????

I don't care what your ex or current season ticket holder told you for you to state that their starting XI was the strongest they could have put out?!? It wasn't even close regardless of the stringent conditions they are currently operating under.

It doesn't bother me, as I stated previously I'm happy they didn't go with a strong XI as it benefited Notts by making it a more even game. The worse thing that could have happened was for Notts to be chasing shadows all game and losing 4-0.

You just need a better sauce.

I suspect his ‘by this time next week’ line means it’s basically done. He said the same after Coalville and then we had Nemane, Francis and Palmer wrapped up in the next couple of days.

We play our cards very close to our chest as the saying goes. There could be another surprise coming, who knows
