BFP, you and I are clearly going to rub each otber up the wrong way on non football threads, so shall we call it quits, so as not to bore others. Hopefully we can enjoy some healthy, friendly football banter 😎

No, continue arguing. That's the NCM way!

It's nice to see people agree to disagree, to be honest.

Agreeing to disagree is the way forward, Lets bring it back into fashion . As a first thread I could have chosen one where passions don't run quite so high I suppose. You live and learn though.

It was certainly a strong choice lol.

I like your sentiment and support it I will vow to 'agree to disagree' more this season than last

Take away the semi-hijacking by the radical side of BLM, taking the knee is the first worldwide recognisable gesture against racism and the centuries of discrimination, exploitation and racial prejudice and it should be treated with the respect it's cause deserves. Are those that do not agree with that gesture racist? No, not necessarily, they are probably tired of the implication that they have to do it or else! Are those that boo the gesture racist? Well if you accept the fundamental issue behind the knee you can only arrive at the conclusion that, either through ignorance or intent, there is an element of racism there.
As for ending racism? You can't force people that are racist not to be so (and let's be balanced here, it is not only WASPs that have a racist history/issues) you can force them to be silent but they still have those feelings. It will take generations of kids growing up together to eradicate the problem.
    Edit:
And we had better start the kids loving each other pretty quick because once global warming makes the hot regions hotter and drier there will be a flood of people looking for a more temperate place to exist. Goodbye equatorial hot dry regions, let me in northern Europe!
Methinks our kids kids will live in a very different place in fifty odd years.

As someone who had derided this post when it appeared, I can whole heartily say that I can fully get behind that. Are you suggesting that I need to get my kids Citizenship to Greenland?
