Atmosphere was brilliant right through from start to finish. But like everything one feeds off the other- if the team turns up then the crowd get behind them more which in turn inspires the side more etc etc etc. However, great as it was, if the match had gone the other way I’m pretty sure it would have turned toxic. Rapidly. We were only a couple of Sevco goals way from ‘Asghar, Asghar Get Tae Phuck’ in all probability. Happily that didn’t come to pass. What now needs to happen is for the team to continue to perform like yesterday and that’ll not happen. As Arabs we do not expect to win every single week, far from it. But what we do expect is a high level of work rate and effort so that should we lose then at a minimum the winning team have had to work hard and earn the win and know they’ve been in a game. Something which last week just simply did not happen.
