So fingers crossed on this one. However if we sign another number 9 as well as him at least we will have strengthened this area and have options.
If we do sign McNulty will have two decent 9s in him and Clark.

I've said before how delighted I was when we signed him due to his time at Hibs but f*ck me, he was such a let down. It was the attitude as well. He really didn't look like he gave a sh*t about being here. The constant kicking the ball away and the snidy laughing when his tricks and flicks weren't picked up by others as if he was better than the rest of the boys in the team.

Agree but if this is the case. It’s a bit like smoking mirrors. We were calling for this area to be strengthened when we had Clark and shanks. Now it might be the case we are just replacing shanks as apposed to signing an additional number 9.

Yeh that’s what I was thinking as welll. Last season MM was signed in addition to LS and NC. Now he’s simply a replacement for one of them. Having said that, there are rumours building that we may be looking as well at getting in Sam Cosgeove from Birmingham on a season loan. THAT would be a helluva coup if they pulled that one off much as I can’t see it…………….

Niskanen AND Walker would make some difference, depending on how good Niskanen is of course, but in Walker there's a genuine attacking midfielder. A guy who likes to run at defences. Dubious form over the last few years however and an apparent lack of fitness which is why he's currently not getting a game at Hearts.

Damn good bit of business by the club in allowing Shankland to depart and getting a fair value back for him. Have to say that as the club and player were up front about his future, the reaction has been good to see. Maybe if we knew about the reasoning other occurrences recently, the fans would maybe be on board a bit more

Some of the inbound names mentioned today have me asking questions, especially Cosgrove who has only been doon sooth for 6 months. I have liked the lad Walker when ive seen him, but is someone elses apparent attitude problem really what we want here?

McNulty is another opinion divider, but him and Clark have proved they are both goal scorers, and also proved they can work together quite well. If he does get here, Clark and McNulty have to be given the chance to see if they can build a partnership and not played at no10 and on the wing!

Cosgrove in advanced talks with Shrewsbury, so looks like that's a non starter.

I agree with other posters about the risk McNulty poses. Admittedly the attitude issues seemed to disappear after Forfar (?) I think and he certainly showed at Pittodrie he can be deadly if he gets the service. There's the next poser, who's going to supply?

Definitely Pawlett has looked more aggressive and appears leaner and fitter, but if he's getting a jersey, and I expect he will, we need more in the door as evidenced by PP's 60 odd minutes v Sevco. I've been very critical of him but his energy and snap were missed when he had to go off.
So....Jamie Walker? Seems he doesn't want to leave Chucky and if correct wouldn't want him on that basis, plus he's injury prone.

So I'm hoping TA has some secret aces he's holding close and all will be revealed when we announce the signings.

A wide player would be a bonus but number one priority for me is still that creative midfielder that holds the ball up and sees the defence splitting pass.

Cosgrove would be exactly alternative striker we need, can't see why he would want to come back to Scotland to play for us after several seasons at Adeen though, think he would want to stay down South, if we are even in for him.
