The fourth test starts on Thursday at the Oval and I see that Jos Buttler is out of the team (his wife is giving birth) and Bairstow is taking over the wicketkeeping duties. Why on Earth do they not bring in the country’s best ‘keeper, Ben Foakes? It must be soul destroying for the bloke.

Buttler is such a lightweight, I hope that’s the end of him in Test cricket.

A question you wouldn’t even ask back in the day, I was in France when my son was born in 92 even though it was likely he’d be born when I was away and it was my wife who insisted I go and do my job.
