The quality of the acting and cinematography was truly magnificent.

Lead actor was Charles Laughton, I’d never seen him before, what a fantastic character actor.

Marlene Dietrich was about 57 in the film but was utterly beautiful and compelling.

Tyrone Power was also in it, he died of a heart attack a year after making the film at the age of 44.

Every character was so well written and acted, it made today’s stuff look so lightweight.

What time is Home and Away on tonight?

Is Alf still in it?
I first watched 'Witness For The Prosecution' sat at home with mom and dad. That I recall it 50 years or so later shows how much of an impact it had on me. Watched it a few times since somewhat reduced in impact because the brilliant 'twist' is known. Superb acting.

Love a black and white war film particuarly those made during the war which are basically propaganda. Favourites include 'One of Our Aircraft is Missing' and 'The Day Will Dawn.' The Brits and resistance fighters are all good looking, brave and have the compulsory stiff upper lip whilst the Germans are all fat, stupid and cowardly. For a bit of the grim reality 'The Cruel Sea' is hard to beat. The book is even better.
