Robson had some good moments but on the whole his default was to hoof it up the line and fall on his arse. This inevitably never found a Utd man and the ball usually came back with interest. I think McCann will be a better fit in to the way Tam wants to play AND allow others to play on the front foot.
McCann bombing up the left to receive a pass from Levitt might be another key piece slotted into Tams jigsaw puzzle, likewise the Finn may be the answer on the right.
On the face of it, we're not far away, Fuchs and Butcher allowing Levitt and Pawlett to create might work.
Whether these moves allow McNulty etc to play his A game remains to be seen, or it may well be that a big target man is needed
I accept the jigsaw isnt built yet and thus we cant see the full picture but I have to say the fog is starting to clear and it defo looks brighter than it did under Mellon.
