My feeling is that the consortium's multi club strategy across Europe leaves ourselves a little isolated from the rest of their stable and coupled with the ground issues they deem it not worth the effort for what little if any profit there is here .

I'd personally welcome new ownership whether local or abroad who would focus solely on this club and this club alone .
On the contrary Animal. The consortium may have multi clubs across Europe but al tell thi nar, not one of them has the same potential profit wise as BFC. The fact that the English Premier league is the richest and most widely watched in the world dangles a carrot that this consortium simply find too tempting and a reward that they can't ignore.

If we were to reach the Premiership then the value of this club would increase astronomically. That has to be the goal for the consortium and this isolates Barnsley FC from the rest of the European clubs in their portfolio. Barring the French league, the Dutch, Danish, Swiss and Belgian top leagues are smaller than the championship and absolutely nowhere near the Premiership financially.

Conway and co have said they're here long term to build the club and with their game plan in buying and selling players are looking like they can possibly achieve promotion to the Premiership here without spending their own money. With that in mind then why would they want to kill the goose that potentially lays the golden egg?
