Thread: Is recruitment likely to drive ground improvement

    In no way do I want ANY owner to own all of the ground.

    Patrick Crynes legacy was two fold:
    He saved the club.
    He ensured that football would be played at Oakwell forever.
    We must HONOUR that.
    And anyone who tries to unravel that has not got my support.

    The ground is owned 50/50 by the Cryne family and Barnsley Council.
    Both of whom are desperate to see the club succeed.
    It’s up to these ground owners to give the football owners a reasonable long lease with a reduced rent - in the knowledge and understanding that the football club owners have to find millions to upgrade the ground.
    And then maintain it.

    It’s not as tho we have 3 separate parties not wanting the best for Barnsley.
    All 3 are wanting to move things forward.
    Personally I would love to be involved in such discussions.
    Exciting times ahead.

    football may well be played at oakwell for many years to come dont mean it will be Barnsley FC.

    why should the football club pay to improve the ground they dont own it maintain it YES pay the leccy bills YES build new stand NO build new bogs NO
