I watched Southend lose to Stockport and they actually look a very decent team, just couldn't translate their pressure into goals. I was very impressed with their RWB Egbri.

IMO the strongest 11. Lacey is much more comfortable than Rawlinson with the ball which I expect us to have plenty of.

If he is the best we have got then it hasn't worked over the last 3 seasons and won't work this one either. We needed better.

He’s had quite a few starting or off the bench, who has stood out for us? There’s been a people that didn’t like Doyle, what we heard especially on other clubs commentaries last season was their admiration for Doyles performances, midfields sometimes a hard position to get the plaudits, you don’t get the last ditch tackle defenders reviews or the strikers goals reviews, it’s more about ticking along doing the knitty gritty sometimes
