Very good examples are Arsenal and Leicester Animal. The best examples of how and how not to do it.

I don't know why PMG bought Barnsley FC. It has something to do with a plan within European football but the nature of the plan still isn't clear to me. I'm not sure that Brexit makes a difference to that plan Yes it's more difficult to bring EU footballers into the club but not impossible. If they do want to make money, then a team in the EFL/Premier league is the way to do it; not in some less well known European league (and yes I know that they made some cash on the French club that they sold but there aren't that many Ineos Jim's about).

I have no reason to doubt what ESR says either because I've noticed over time he is a very reliable source of information.

I hear what people say about the owners buying Barnsley/Oakwell because of the land (and yes SB I know they are reported not to have bought either yet). However, I don't see PMG buying Barnsley FC purely because of the land around Oakwell. They're a sports group not developers. Sport is their business. Before they bought Barnsley, I believe that they were considering buying other clubs including Middlesbrough. I'm not aware, in Middlesbrough's case, whether they have land available for development; I suspect they haven't because the Riverside is a relatively new stadium. I'm sure the reason that they didn't buy Middlesbrough had nothing to do with the lack of availability of land for development.

If they go, they go having moved us forward from where we were when they bought us. I'm not really sure who would want to buy us though because in the current financial climate, any would be investors, probably have the chance to buy a number of other clubs at bargain prices. Is a new owner going to be better? It's down to pot luck in my view and as you say, there's no way the fans can influence that.

Understanding why they bought Barnsley FC is the key to understanding what may happen next. Unfortunately, I've not seen or heard or understood why they did buy Barnsley and we're almost 4 years? into the tenure.
These charlatans are not a sports group Arbs. They are a Consortium of varied business interests-

Chien Lee-owner of New City Capital--Venture Capital, Hospitality (mainly hotel chains) Asset Management and Development
Paul "Arseoyle" Conway--co owner of Pacific Media Group based in Hong Kong--distribution of a variety of media globally
Grace Hung--co owner and President of PMG
Neerav Parekh--Mumbai based data company called v Phrase
