If they price the Hibs game wrong then it will be a terrible turnout for a big cup game
The other thing is, and they were discussing this on the recent Dode Fox podcast, that United are by no means some sort of outlier here in terms of pricing in comparison to the rest of the League. There were several Clubs who charge more for PATG and few, if any, who charged less than United. I'm not saying it's right but United's current prices are not somehow exceptional.

Everyone is an individual Terence you know that, hence they can individually make their own individual choices , No???

That's a very good point James , but I wonder what hike in the prices were applied to those clubs in comparison to ours?

Grumbling again I know , apologies

I know I may be coming across as defending the Club a wee bit here but what I would say is that the price of my ET Lower Season Ticket has been remarkably stable over the last 5-6 years. I would say ridiculously so given inflation etc. Indeed, Funny FC’s STs were comparably significantly more expensive when we were both in the league of Fun a couple of seasons back. And that’s continued into this season.

Pricing wise the Club aren’t perfect, but they’re not exactly bad either.

Not had time to read all the posts on this, had to skip through a bit playing catch up.

As someone who remembers being shocked when the multi screen cinema in Stoke wanted £6.95 off me I did think £30 was too much.
And I kind of agree with posters who are underwhelmed at the product. Would you pay £30 for a 1.5 hour movie with average actors in it?
But then as James pointed out, it's not about takeaways or restaurants it's about supporting your team. There are other movies, there are other restaurants. There is only one Dundee United.

There is nout wrong with defending the club in the slightest.

But................ as you say the ST tickets price has been stable for a good few years, why has the pay at the gate prices went up so drastically in the last few (well ehm) weeks?

Do agree with most of that (apart fae that rubber shark in Jahz)

But when does loyalty / blind faith turn in to stupidity? We call Aberdeen "the sheep" for different reasons obviously but......... really hope we can all make our own choices instead of pondering slowly down that same path , time and time again.

Going back to what the_arab was driving at (I think)

Are we at the stage where the club management would be happy with a 5000 attendance paying £50 or a 10,000 attendance paying £25?

I know that's not taking seasons into account etc etc but the point I'm trying to make (badly) is that in pure economic terms it has the same financial outcome, and I just used 50 to make the point. It's important we don't price fans out because attending matches is a habit that can be replaced unless you're absolutely diehard.

And once your PATG attending habit has changed a bit it's possible you'll just give other cheaper games a miss. We want as many United fans at every game as we can get.

Im amazed it's selling out when live on Sky, maybe they have got this one right if it's selling, but that doesn't mean it'll be successful every time.
