Horrible game of football, possibly the worst we’ve played since the Pulis days. Grant and Diangana are hopeless, Grant must have had some coaching from Zohore and it’s unforgivable that a professional footballer takes such a pathetic penalty. We looked better second half with Hugill and Robinson on; I assume Robinson started on the bench as he had been away on midweek international duty. I’m not happy having wasted half a day watching that rubbish and having suffered another awful journey to get there.
Going back to just before kick off, I heard quite a bit of booing when the kneeling nonsense took place; are they so thick that they can’t see that it is counterproductive?
BTW, I mean all footballers, not just ours, it gone beyond a joke.
What a ridiculous overreaction. They kneel for about 10 seconds to demonstrate anti-racism. This is especially important given that we have players in our team who have suffered abuse recently. Your reaction "it's beyond a joke" is almost like it impacts you in any way.
Bizarre set of opinions from folk these days.
No, it’s not an overreaction, I don’t go to football matches to be preached to; I don’t need footballers, or anyone else for that matter to tell me how to behave or what opinions to hold. Also, all the kneeling nonsense has made not a jot of difference to the abuse that some people put out, in fact, I would suggest that it has got worse. I would like the racist abuse to stop but unfortunately the lecturing nature of ‘wokes’ these days, and the kneeling nonsense, just provokes the morons even more.
I can't understand why you feel it is you being preached. If you think that a message of anti-racism is towards your own opinions, you perhaps need to look at your own opinions.
I can't fathom why anti-racism would be referred to as 'woke'. It's not a myth that footballers get targeted for racism. It's fact. You don't need to be 'woke' to see that it occurs.
They need support, not boo's. The irony is, people want racism to stop boo the only people who seem to want to make a stand against it. I'd love someone who actually boo's it to come out with some intelligent comments around why footballers feel they need to take the knee and an alternative approach for making them feel they don't have to.
I am entitled to my opinions, as you are to yours. I genuinely believe that the gesture is way beyond its sell by date and is now counterproductive. Additionally, the knee nonsense is inextricably associated with BLM, perceived or otherwise, and that in itself is more than enough reason to dump the gesture. BLM is an odious organisation, anarchistic and racist. Why anyone would do something that could even remotely be linked to that is unbelievable. Yes, I know that they all deny that ‘the knee’ is anything to do with BLM but to many there is a connection. There has been racism amongst mankind since the dawn of human evolution and if you think that a few footballers kneeling is going to change the World, then I’m afraid that you are somewhat delusional.
