Agree. Will a new gesture work though? We know the current one isn’t. Fighting racism has been one long journey we’re all on, doesn’t seem to be improving.. sadly racism is here to stay.

Just thinking off the top my head, racists will only stop being racist when you hit them back where it hurts. So once someone is found to be racist (and this has to be swift) they are publicly humiliated or their families brought in to be ashamed. Then their employers. This won’t be a popular but a few of these tactics could be enough of a deterrent to others thinking of it. Stick a tag on their leg to monitor their movements, anything that really that can make their life a living hell. A bit extreme i know.. but will it make a racist think twice? maybe maybe not but it may deter others.
