We all have our opinions - that's mine. But I don't see any of the teams he's 'managed' since us, exactly tearing up to the Prem, and for my money, if we lost every game I'd rather be proud of Warne as a manager, than thoroughly ashamed of the copious ar*e-crack...
Yes you make some fair points there apart from the last few words
We used to sign players on big money per week before Blackstock such as Becchio, Camp, Darbs, Halford plus others and Tony is clearly not prepared to do that anymore.
To be fair Darbs and Camp were great signings but the others weren't worth it

My understanding was that it was the Blackstock signing alone which changed TS' philosophy on spending. He was fuming when we paid up his contract. Blackstock was a shambolic, panic signing (made after the window had closed). But it was that wonky eyed turd Alan Stubbs who signed Blackstock, not Evans.

That said, I'm not blind to how he can be.

All in all its RUFC first and foremost for me. The individual characters come and go (players, managers, even chairmen). It may seem callous but I usually view them as they probably views us:. As a means to an end. They're commodities and provided they improve the club that I love during their tenure then I'm a happy Grumps'. And nobody can possibly dispute that Evans didn't improve us.
With Grumps on this. Met Steve Evans on a couple of occasions; once at corporate type thing when he probably had to be on best behaviour; once in a pub whilst he was out with Paul Raynor when neither of them had to behave at all. He was a gentleman on both occasions, as was PR at the pub (he wasn't at the corporate thing).

Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed the Evans years; so much excitement particularly in L1 and Championship. I put him just behind Ronnie as a favourite manager (loved Billy Mac's football too) but each to their own.

I think SE and PR are part of the dying breed of 'hairdryer and teacup' managers. That's a good thing, and I wouldn't fancy that at work, but the vast majority of that squad would run through walls; whether for SE & PR or their own pride, I don't know? Whatever the reason, and I doubt they cared, they had that team on fire on many occasion.

Sounded like a bit fiery on touchline in last minute at Shrewsbury today…not seen it but both benches getting involved a few sendings off involving players and coaching staff..

Shrewsbury's gk holding Raynor down by his neck .. Oh Evans kept us up Nice guy Warne has yet to do that till he does he is behind the likes of Moore and Evans and also Warnock .

When Evans came to the club i met him and told him to his face i didn't like him. Then i said to him but i want you to prove me wrong and get us results he did .For all the hate on here for him he still goes down as a good Manager for Rotherham

The sub keeper has him pinned to the ground in the video. But I got told he’d dropped him first.

Paul Rayner not charged by the FA, after being red carded during the Shrewsbury Town
game, the Shrewsbury Town sub-goalkeeper received a 3 game ban.

Both Gillingham & Shrewsbury Town charged by the FA
