The League allowed newsreels from 1949 or 50, then highlights 4/5 years later.
Maybe the Barnet vs Wealdstone game was just the first amateur game live on telly then. Looks like Wikipedia has lived up to it's reputation again!

We need to find a way of exerting some control on games. Fair reflection of that would’ve been a 5-5 draw or something.

    Still, decent start results wise.

It's a bit ambiguous as some sites talk about live league matches, others matches shown etc

I thought they were a pretty decent side tonight tbh. 2nd balls is definitely an issue for us which needs sorting. The hardest thing in football is scoring goals and that’s the positive for this squad, I do believe IB will make us defensively better though. Thought Palmer was brilliant tonight, great on the ball but his work rate was excellent.

Well that was a rinse and repeat from the last home game. Played pish poor, but still got a win. We can't defend for toffee and it takes us 35 mins to get into attack mode. 🤣

5,213 is 1,000 more than I expected for a wet night match v a very non-league outfit. Great turn out.

We're the 2nd highest scorers (2.33 PG) and despite all of the defensive problems, 6th best for concessions (1,17).

Goals across the division are well up on last season's average.

A bit of perspective...15 of the other 22 NL teams have conceded more goals than us.
We are 2nd for goals scored.
We're on track...and it's the 1st game of the season IB started a back 4

I think they can say they were the first televised *league* fixture, albeit non-league.

First televised FL game live was 1960 and the next one not until 1983!!!

Very frustrating to see us playing without intensity again for large parts of the game and not sure if we were a bit complacent. Credit to Wealdstone however who looked a decent side.
