It is a well known fact throughout Scotland.
Last week I was speaking to visitors who were living in the house next door to us which is let out for holiday lets.
They come from near Nuneaton in England and they told me that Nicola Sturgeon purchased Judy Murray’s house in Bridge of Allan. According to articles in the press Judy Murray sold her house in Bridge of Allan in December 2017 for £783,000. it had been on the market for ten months before it was sold and she sold it for £22,000 less than she had paid for it.

What is a well known fact throughout Scotland?

And also, Why should anyone give a monkeys about where Nicola Sturgeon lives or who she bought a house from or how much it cost??

It is hardly going to impact on how you go about your daily business now is it Islay?

I find it very surprising that she is able to purchase a house costing £783,000 as it is unlikely that she would be granted a mortgage for that amount for what is effectively a second home.

What makes you think she took out a mortgage on any property?

How do you come to that conclusion?

She was 47 years old in December 2017.
Banks would be loath to grant a 25 year mortgage for £783,000 for a second home for a person who will be aged 48 on their next birthday

Once again you've assumed she needed a 100% mortgage, maybe she paid part or all up front?

I'd be very surprised if she didn't have the resources to fund this purchase herself.

I got a 15 year mortgage at 47 years of age. I could have easily got a 25 year one if I wanted it, and could have easily got over £500,000 for that term but opted to borrow less and pay larger payments to get it out the way before I retire - if the disUK government ever let me retire that is.
