I always rated Alessandra, seemed a decent player to me

Am I correct in thinking we had 3 centre backs out today and a goalkeeper ?, all through injuries and are then people are complaining because our performance was compromised ?......!

It hasn't been all that good before the 3 injuries, we've been lucky with the wins bar Barnet

It’s a possible excuse for us conceding, but it doesn’t excuse us not scoring.

If you don’t score, you don’t win.

I see Lewis Alessandra scored today for Carlisle. He's a player we let go because he wasn't good enough at the time. He joined Morecambe after leaving us. He would walk into our side now I reckon.
How do you work that one out? They lost 4-0.

I will take lucky all season then , we were unbeaten , yes with more to come but still doing better than ok. Our first defeat comes with the defence decimated.

I'm sure you realise that having a decimated back four doesn't only compromise the way we will defend but the rest of the team ...?

Maybe a decimated back four, but we had a front three of Roberts, Rodrigues and Wootton.

    And we didn't score.

    Against Altrincham.

Some great points being made on this thread. There’s no disguising that Barnet aside, we’ve made a disappointing start to the season. For the performances alone it’s hard to see us winning the league and that’s what I presume was the aim.

I think it’s nigh on impossible to win the National league with style of football we’re currently employing.

Yet, just to play the role of devil's advocate, here we are with one defeat in 8 (not generally considered 'a disappointing start to the season' by anyone else I know) and that in a game with a rookie goalie and a makeshift defence. If you look at the bit that matters at season's end it shows only the results and not the style of their acquisition.
